3D Eye Swap Error

Sometimes one or more projectors will incorrectly swap the left & right eyes (the wrong image is being displayed for the wrong eye). It makes it difficult to look at the screen, especially if you are looking at the edge of two screens.

To Troubleshoot:

  • Click the Testpattern button on the menu (image shown below). If it doesn't run, then make sure that trackd is running.
  • Look at the screens in the CAVE with 3D glasses.
  • Close one eye and see which “left or right eye” text you see displaying. If you see the wrong one, then the eyes are swapped.

To Fix the Problem Projector:

On the small rack behind the center screen, you'll see a series of splitters with BNC connections. Find the connection that corresponds with the problem projector (see list below), remove, wait 2 seconds, then reinsert the connector. The projectors can stay on the whole time. Take another look at the test pattern and see if the eyes are still swapped. Keep repeating until the eyes are no longer swapped.

List of cables that correspond to projectors:

  • V027 - Ceiling Left
  • V028 - Ceiling Right
  • V029 - Floor Left
  • V030 - Floor Right
  • V020 - Left Wall Projector
  • V021 - Center Left projector
  • V022 - Center Right projector
  • V023 - Right Wall projector
